The road to the Little French Bakery has taken many turns. Susan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Nursing. After several years, she joined a software company and worked with clinics nationwide implementing medical software. During this time, she completed her MBA.

In August 1998, she began her studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France in classic French pastry techniques. In August 1999, she completed the Intermediate Course at Le Cordon Bleu with honors and in December 1999, earned the full Diplome de Patisserie. Course work in the Superior Pastry included many sugar and chocolate sculpture techniques, restaurant dessert preparation and the creation of hand-dipped chocolates made to fill a box made of chocolate.

In addition to Le Cordon Bleu, Susan has studied sugar paste and fondant work with Colette Peters of New York.

Susan lives near Baraboo, Wisconsin with her husband Gary.

The Little French Bakery began in June 1999. The bakery does not currently have a retail area. Please contact the bakery by phone or email. 48 hours notice is generally required for orders. Orders can be picked up, or delivered for a small fee.
