BAL: Chocolate Cherry Buttermilk Scones

Welcome!

Here we are, off to our very first recipe.

I think it’s a great recipe, and made some of the best scones I’ve ever made. They was tender, very well flavored and didn’t require chilling.

As I gathered ingredients, I was sure I had everything I needed. Except for what I forgot! No buttermilk. But never fear, I had a lemon and milk to I made my own. For the chocolate, I used dark milk chocolate chips, and bittersweet chips. They were slightly different sizes, making a nice combination.

I liked the addition of just a bit of cinnamon and sugar pressed on to the top. The finish with the light drizzle was so good. The orange zest added a really nice touch. Well done David!

They’re big scones and I might make them smaller next time. But for sure, these will be on repeat here.

How did your scones turn out? Thoughts? Leave your comments, links and photos in the comment area of this post.

The dough wasn’t too sticky and shaped easily into the circle.
